Project overview

Culture as the starting point.

Shanghai Great World provides the cultural setting for an exhibition approach rooted in the city's entertainment heritage. The concept connects traditional culture with contemporary visual language and the interests of younger audiences.

The approach

Craft stories, spatial experiences and interactive activities are brought into one visitor journey. The programme considers five ways to participate: food, cultural design, performance, learning and play.

The connection

The emphasis is on living heritage: giving audiences ways to encounter the skills, stories and materials behind traditional practices through direct participation.
